The Sanden SD7H15 is a popular, heavy-duty aftermarket compressor used in Porsche air conditioning (A/C) upgrades and retrofits. Air-cooled models from 1965-1989 originally used heavy, inefficient York or Nippondenso compressors. Converting to a modern Sanden SD7H15 (or the 507/508 family) reduces engine load, provides better idle, and improves cooling—especially when converting an older system to R-134a.Â
